Marty, Lathen, Jerry & Becky
Here at Walton's, the roots run deep. This business was founded by a father and son combo. Lathen Walton and son, Marty Walton, started Walton Greenhouses, Inc. over thirty-four years ago with one small greenhouse in the rural community of Peaceful Valley in Itawamba County, Mississippi. The greenhouse was, to be truthful, in Lathen and his wife, Jerry's, backyard. Since 1991, that one greenhouse farm has blossomed into a twenty-six-greenhouse operation. Along with the farm growth, the selling of plants has expanded as well. Once a wholesale only company, Walton's branched into an all-retail world in 1997 in Tupelo, MS. In 2000, we saw a need to make an addition in our hometown and opened our Fulton location. Upon Marty's retirement, after 26 years in the MS National Guard, the hometown location got a face-lift and a new location. It seemed there was room to bloom in Amory, MS, home of the third Walton's location. The late bloomers in Walton's locations are in New Albany and Columbus. That brings us to five locations to serve you and all your gardening needs. As the business grew, so did our family. Marty's daughters Madi Walton Howard and Macy Walton Hendricks stepped into leadership roles in the company. As the grower and retailer, the plants are looked after each day by Marty, Lathen and Macy. Lathen, a retired agriculture teacher of 31 years, and his wife, Jerry Walton, have retired from their full-time roles in the company. However, their knowledge and wisdom are imparted to us daily. Marty's wife, Becky, joined the team full time in 2014. On the farm, the growing operation is a key factor in the quality of our plants. There are a number of full-time employees that tackle growing at the Walton farm. In the retail locations, much of the staff have been with the operation for many years and their knowledge is extensive. The Waltons believe they are continually blessed with a team of great people. They also believe the Lord gets all the credit and are continually blessed in many ways. The owners of Walton's Greenhouse are thankful to the Lord, their employees and their VALUED CUSTOMERS.
